According to INSEE, the French statistics office 2018 was a record with 970000 property sales excluding sales of new homes. The main reason is still the very low interest rates for house loans.

How is this affecting house prices in France
The impact on prices varies significantly by region. The highest increase in house prices (5-10%) were in cities like Paris, Lyons and Bordeaux. In the most provinces including the South of France, there has been an overall 3% increase in house prices over the last 2 years.
What does the future hold for the property market in the South of France?
The demographic fundamentals look excellent, as the next generation of potential home buyers from the North of France qnd Europe get close to realizing their dream of moving to south to the sun when getting close to retirement or if they have the means to buy a second home.
